Once upon a new release ribbon launch I pulled the amazing 3/8 Inch Adhesive Velvet Ric Rac card and had the fun of playing with velvety adhesive ric rac. As alot of my brain naturally falls to sewing projects I had to alter my thinking and enjoy a new adventure.
3/8 Inch Adhesive Velvet Ric Rac comes in 10 fabulous colors but I must have been in a Christmas in July kinda mood when I worked on this project or else I just wanted a cohesive collection of projects either way it is a little Christmasy.
3 projects 1 ribbon...
ATTENTION: Use a battery Powered candle! do NOT use a candle with real live flames ribbon is not flame retardant! Okay now that it is out of the way and you understand that I did NOT recommend open flame and ribbon, Layer 3/8 Inch Adhesive Velvet Ric Rac with other ribbons to create your own trims.
Space 3/8 Inch Adhesive Velvet Ric Rac to give the illusion of ric rac in between your trims. The use of negative space can add quite an impact take advantage of it it doesn't cost a thing!
Overlaping and staggering your points gives a fabulous scaley texture and dimension. Wrap the ends around the edge of a card stock base will leave you with no frayed edges.
I am sure there are a billion other ways to use 3/8 Inch Adhesive Velvet Ric Rac ... what would you do with them?
other May Arts ribbons I used...

Ah man, I knew I should have been more clear about ribbons and open flames! ;)
DeleteI'm interested in your Blue Jean Queen pattern for Sew News. Unfortunately, the website is missing the triangle pattern piece. Other people have contacted Sew News but there's been no response (see reader comments here: http://www.sewnews.com/articles/Roomy-Denim-Tote-Bag-With-Free-Patterns?bc=c). Can you help with this? Thanks much!
ReplyDeleteHi Eyrir,
DeleteI was just made aware of the issue earlier this week. I am going to pull out my patterns today. I will check in with Sew News and have them make the addition and any adjustments needed. Thanks soo much for your comment with my busy summer if it wasn't for your comment and another readers email I may have been blissfully unaware of the issue. :)
