Keeping Organized with Deflecto

Keeping organized with a little chalky paint and alot of Deflecto!! What a fun way to keep your organization personal.
Function and fashionable the Deflecto Carousel Rotating Organizer 9 Bin (Item Number: 3901CR) will hold and more then you can even imagine!  Mine are filled with key sewing supplies and labeled to match: piping, thread, elastic and the like.

What you need:
Chalky Finish for glass (used Deco Art ADCG02)
Cosmetic Sponge
Painters tape
Wax paper
Paper Punch (Used: Decorative Label Punch)

What to do:

1. Lay strips of painters tape overlapping on wax paper. Center punch on tape and punch to create template.

\

2. Peel template from wax paper.  Apply to center of container.

3. Apply chalky paint with a pouncing motion over the template. Let dry and add repeat. 3 layers seems to be a nice coverage. (If you are impatient like me you may choose to dry it with a heat gun or a hair dryer in-between layers)

This is a sponsored post. As a member of the Deflecto Design Team I have been provided product in exchange for my creative ideas, views and opinions

World Autism Awareness Day: Weighted Lap Fuzzy

Inspired by a service project I spotted online my original plan was a striped inch worm. As the project moved forward with these fabulous Cuddle fabrics by Shannon Fabrics they look more like a soft candy treats tied up with pretty ribbons by May Arts.
If you are not familiar in the value of weighted items for autism here is a little info I found that explains it perfectly:
"Weighted things like weighted blankets, weighted lap pads and weighted vests can be very calming for some children with autism. The weight provides calming proprioceptive input and many occupational therapists recommend appropriate weight for individuals with autism and sensory issues who can be overstimulated or anxious. Weight can also help some kids with autism or ADHD focus and pay attention in the classroom or during mealtime."
I will be using these myself as I filled them with rice and I can toss them in the freezer if I need a cold pack or the microwave if I need a hot pack. ;) I LOVE multi-fuctional items that are awesomely cute too.
